If you’ve signed up for a pickleball tournament—or just want to turn heads at your local courts—but have no clue what to wear, you’re in the right place.

Like it or not, coordinated outfits with your mixed doubles partner just hit different. And let’s be honest, when you look good, you feel good, and that confidence usually shows up in your game.

Here are some of my favorite ways to match with your partner, from simple, beginner-friendly combos to next-level coordination that makes a statement.

Level 1: Same Brand, Same Collection

Brands like Lululemon, Vuori, and Alo, plus pretty much any athleticwear label you love, regularly drop matching colors and patterns across both men’s and women’s lines.

So keep it simple: pick your go-to brand and build from there.

The pros lean on this all the time. Just look at style standouts and top mixed team Jorja and JW Johnson. They’ll pull pieces from the same Lululemon collection to stay perfectly in sync.

Jorja rocks the latest skirt, top, and shrug, while JW pulls the same colorway from the men’s line. When they walk onto Championship Court, it’s a perfectly coordinated look that feels completely effortless.

Simple. Foolproof. Low effort, in the best way.

Level 2: Matching Accent Colors and Accessories

Maybe you’re not trying to buy a whole new outfit. That’s fair. Instead, just lock in on one shared accent color and build around it.

For example, if she’s in a black tennis dress with a baby blue hair bow, he can go all black and tie in that same baby blue through an accessory—like arm sleeves—to match.

The best part? Most players already have staples like black, white, or navy in their closet, so all it takes is one shared accessory to bring the whole look together.

It’s one of the easiest ways to look coordinated without overthinking it. Simple, clean, and ready for match day.

Level 3: The Color Swap

This is one of my go-to mixed doubles outfit formulas, and the pros use it, too. Just look Nicole Conard and Will Mackinnon for a perfect example.

One player goes purple on top and white on the bottom, while the other flips it, white on top, purple on the bottom.

It’s balanced, eye-catching, and makes your coordination look intentional without trying too hard.

Together, they look coordinated without crossing into full-on uniform territory.

You can pull this off with just about any color combo. Since it’s built around one statement color and one neutral, there’s a good chance you already have everything you need.

Pick your favorite color, pair it with black, white, or navy, and you’re set. It’s a formula that’s effortlessly polished and always looks chic.

Level 4: Advanced Color Coordination

Now we’re getting into expert-level mixed doubles styling.

Instead of sticking to just one accent color, you’re coordinating two or even three colors across both outfits.

One of my favorite examples is a throwback from Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters, who leaned into complementary shades like emerald and lime green. That era of fits was top tier.

On their own, each outfit is different, but together it feels completely intentional and elevated.

And if you really want to turn heads (and impress the pickleball fashion crowd), take a page from this PPA Challengers duo.

Connor Mogle and Audrey Brown absolutely nailed it, weaving blue, yellow, and pink seamlessly through both their outfits and accessories.

This is next-level coordination. At that point, you’re not just getting dressed for pickleball, you’re creating something.
